About me.

I’m Malia Hurwitz - a Brooklyn-based creative video editor with a love of visual storytelling. Whether it’s a 15 second commercial, a 4 minute human interest story, or a 30 minute sit-down interview, I always aim to bring something original and engaging to the table.

My multi-racial background has given me a unique lens through which to view media and storytelling. I believe strongly in lifting up diverse voices and stories. I am continually in awe of the power of video to convey a range of human experiences and its ability to give us a greater understanding of and compassion for each other.

With 10+ years in the post production industry, I value building relationships with my co-creatives through a foundation of strong communication, support, and a well-crafted dad-joke.

When I’m not editing you’ll find me spending time with my husband (and fellow video editor) Thomas and our dog Liko, attempting my best GBBO bake, or channeling my inner retiree and embroidering. I’m a sucker for a Schitt’s Creek rerun or a British period drama. And if you need a groan-worthy pun, I’m your gal.
